46th PHILIPPINE LADIES AMATEUR OPEN GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

The Womens's Golf Association of the Philippines (WGAP) is Proud to announce the staging of the 46th Philippine Ladies Amateur Open Golf Championship to be held on January 16-18,2008 at the Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club, Carmona Cavite, Philippines.

WGAP would like to invite all interested Lady Amateur Golfers to participate in the above mentioned event.

Sri Lanka Ladies Open Amateur Championship

The Sri Lanka Golf Union has invited the SLGA to participate in this tournament. A two-member team and a manager will be chosen to take part in this event. Other interested parties may also participate at their own expenses.

Entry Requirements:

Ladies Open Amateur Championship
Open to lady amateur golfers who are members of a recognised golf club. Golfers should have a handicap of 20 and below

Handicap Events
Open to lady amateur golfers who are members of a recognised golf club. Golfers should have a handicap of 30 and below

100 Plus Malaysian Junior Open Golf Championship 2007

Low Si Xuan, Deborah Lee and Amelia Yong represented the SLGA at this event on 20 to 22 August 2007. Held at Saujana Golf & Country Club, the Championship saw Chihiro Ikeda of the Philippines emerging first with Mia Piccio, also of the Philippines, coming in second. They had a gross score of 218 and 219 respectively.

11th Junior Ranking Medal
Held at the Sentosa Golf Club on 14 August, the latest instalment of the monthly medal saw Nicole Koh clinching the best score (75, white tee), while Stephanie Loi came in second with a score of 76.

The Taiwan Amateur Golf Championship 2007

The Golf Association of The Republic of China invited 2 of our players and a Team Official for the Taiwan Amateur Golf Championship 2007. This was held at the Nan Pao Golf & Country Club in Tainan County of Taiwan (Kaoshiung) on 3-6 July 2007. Melissa Loh and Koh Sock Hwee represented SLGA. The Team Official slot was taken by SGA. On arrival Melissa was down with high fever and the next day she struggled and did not manage to complete her practice round. Albeit she did play the official rounds she did not make the cut. Only Koh Sock Hwee qualified. She played 73, 85 78 and 85. The Champion was Lydia Ivana Jaya (Indonesia). Her score was 77 71 74 71. The 2nd to 9th place were taken by players from ROC.
